Local Area Details
This is a mixed holiday and residential complex in a quieter part of Costa del Silencio but well placed for bars and restaurants. Golf courses are within easy reach as are several PADI diving centres. The complex has its own pool and well maintained gardens. Fishing from the rocks in front of the apartment is popular whilst there are beaches at the neighbouring Las Galletas which is also popular for its sea front bars and restaurants

The Local Area In the surrounding area there are excellent restaurants of many nationalities there are shops and supermarkets to cater for your needs You can book tours rent a car or play tennis or relax in one of the bars Amerilla Bay with its beautiful rocky coastline and pebble beach is just 10 minutes walk away The local village of Las Galletas is also about 10 minutes walk away In Las Galletas there are plenty of interesting shops restaurants bars banks etc all the locals do their shopping here as the prices are cheaper In the village of Las Galletas there is a sandy shingle beach there is good surfing here There is a nice promenade which leads down to the lovely harbour there is another beach at the harbour which is completely safe and is ideal for snorkelling As you walk down the promenade there are bars and restaurants including speciality fish restaurants There is a local fish market to where you can purchase fresh fish just landed The Costa del Silencio comes under urban planning controls there are no high apartment blocks no hotels and most buildings are no higher than three floors Just 2 minutes walk from the apartment there is a bus stop and here you can catch a bus to most parts of the island Playa Americas and Las Christianos takes about 25 minutes Check out the timetable on www titsa com If you do not fancy moving too far from the apartment there is plenty to do locally why not hire a bike and explore the area There are some lovely nature trails and the cliff top walk is stunning you can see the whole area from here stay for the sunset it is fantastic Quite a few of the bars put on entertainment at night For something special go to Flicks on Amerilla Bay they will bring you back to the apartment or Strikers Exciles Stellas Brookes Starlights etc at Coral Mar complex just down the road

Mount Teide (Volcano)

Pico de Teide is not only Spain's highest peak, at 3,718 metres high, it is also the world's third largest volcano. And yes, it's still active!

The area surrounding Teide was declared a Parque Nacional in 1954. Because of the unique nature of the environment, extremely high altitude and low humidity the area around Teide is home to a very specialised ecosystem of hardy flora and fauna adapted to survive in extreme conditions. 

Teleferico Teide is a cable car company that will whisk you the elevated reaches of Teide, though not currently to the crater. The patter of thousands of tourist feet have over the years caused some erosion to the majestic Teide. Restrictions are now in place to limit the number of visitors that tromp about the tip of Teide including making it a bit harder to get there.

You can still reach the crater - just not via cable car (though Teleferico will still ferry between viewpoints).
